  Russell's is where you want to go if you want American meat. The food is simple, but it's exactly what you want. The food is outstanding, seriously.
  
  The flavors are powerful. They're not unexpected or challenging, but they're comforting and perfect.
  
  I don't really need a lot of words to describe food this good.
  
  The service is outstanding.
  
  The cocktails are flawless.
  
  It's even better if you are a wine drinker as chef Russell is exceptionally well connected to the Washington Wine scene and his staff is well educated in pairings and the overall character of every wine they serve.
  
  Russell's pastry chef is also an outstandingly talented person, I can't recall exactly what my dessert was called - but I certainly would want more and more of it right now.

  Excellent service. Excellent food. Prices are decent for the quality of food and service.
  Comfortable environment. Within a business park.
  I'm super glad we stopped by for a late night meal.
  Happy hour menu is fun.
  Mussels with salmon cream sauce..YES!! Get some bread on the side.
  Great wine selection.
  Bread pudding excellent too.

  Excellent food and drinks. Warning, do not come after 8pm on a weekend if it's wedding season! The noise from above is really jarring and off putting when you're trying to enjoy a nice birthday meal with friends! The dancefloor is right above the dining room so they either need to put down carpet upstairs or not have dinner below a wedding once the DJ starts playing music.
  
  The service was excellent as was everything I tasted. I will come back again when there isn't something going on upstairs!

  Food was good. Lunch service was not my favorite. It was an order at the counter, pour your own water, get your own silverware and napkins and no checking on us.  4 stars for food quality 2 stars service.. average to 3 stars overall.

  I have come to like this place quite a bit. Don't let the location fool you - this is a high end restaurant that is not snobbish. The steaks and fish are superbly prepared and the wine selection is excellent - lots of great wines served by the glass. I was disappointed by the cocktail program on my last visit - but suspect it was a fluke and will give it one more try. Regardless the excellent food carries this place and it's worth trying if you have not been in before.
